Restylane® was the first FDA-approved injectable filler for subdermal facial tissues. It is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that is used to restore, rejuvenate and correct the signs of aging in the skin by adding volume and/or filling shallow to deep lines, wrinkles, and facial folds. Restylane® is also widely used to enhance the lips by adding definition and fullness. What is Restylane®?

Restylane® is a synthetic injectable gel filler in the form of clear hyaluronic acid that mimics the body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Naturally produced hyaluronic acid is found in all the world’s species, and always has an identical chemical composition making it nonimmunogenic (meaning that it requires no allergy testing) and the ideal material for use as a filler.

As the body ages, skin loses volume and elasticity and nowhere are those signs of aging more apparent than in the face. Restylane®–the only subdermal filler made of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid—replaces that lost volume, creates more defined facial contours, and smooths out facial wrinkles and folds.

Benefits of Restylane®

Restylane® visibly corrects shallow to deep wrinkles and folds in the face, and is most often used to correct smile lines (nasolabial folds) running from the nose to the corner of the mouth, and marionette lines running from the corners of the mouth toward the chin.

Is Restylane® Right for You?

Restylane® is a great choice for patients looking for a non-surgical treatment option that rejuvenates facial skin and restores facial definition and volume with no downtime. Restylane® treatments are done in our onsite state-of-the-art cosmetic suite at Lickstein Plastic Surgery and take approximately half an hour, depending on the number and size of the desired treatment areas, with results typically seen immediately after treatment. The average Restylane® treatment lasts for six months to eighteen months, depending on the area treated.
